This document sets out a common vision to guide intergovernmental cooperation and stakeholder participation in the successful management of Canada’s groundwater resources. It reviews previous Canadian initiatives on groundwater; provides an inventory of existing coordination mechanisms and cooperative programs; and offers recommendations relating to coordination and collaboration mechanisms, national cooperative programs, communication, performance standards, and uniformity. Summarizes looming groundwater issues identified during the first National Workshop on Groundwater in 2000.
