Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation treaty land entitlement inquiry: RC31-45/2007E-PDF

In April 1998, the Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation wrote to the Indian Claims Commission requesting an inquiry into its treaty land entitlement claim. In May 1998, the Commission provided notice to the parties that it would proceed with this inquiry. Over the course of the inquiry, the Commission held eight planning conferences, a site visit in June 2005, and proceeded to oral submissions in June 2005 and in June 2006. A review of the facts and issues, together with a legal analysis, findings, and recommendation to the parties, is set out in the attached report.
