Canadian strategy on palliative and end-of-life care : final report of the Coordinating Committee, December 2002 to March 2007: H21-244/2007E-PDF

Health care providers, educators, governments, and the Canadian public have come to appreciate the value of providing appropriate and compassionate support to individuals facing life threatening illness, and their loved ones. In keeping with this shift in prominence, the Canadian Strategy on Palliative and End-of-Life Care (the Strategy) was implemented in 2002 to improve Canada’s capacity to deliver quality end-of-life care. The Coordinating Committee for the Strategy is now pleased to present this final report, which outlines the key achievements of this important initiative.
