This booklet looks at sustainable development in terms of land use in Canada’s North. It applies to Crown land in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon only. It discusses DIAND’s sustainable development strategy. It then looks at a life cycle approach to sustainable development and implementation considerations for proponents and land use operators planning activities to help them assess and minimize environmental impacts. Includes a case example of a gold mine in Yukon.
