500 |a"On March 7, 1998 the Law Commission of Canada hosted a Round Table in Victoria, B.C. to explore the implications of the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada in the reference re remuneration of judges of the Provincial Court of Prince Edward Island case... As part of the day's proceedings the Law Commission of Canada requested a number of scholars to produce studies for distribution to invitees... Following the Round Table a number of invitees expressed interest in having the final versions of these studies made available in a more permanent format. The Law Commission of Canada was also asked to prepare a brief summary of the discussions at the Round Table for general distribution. This collection is the result of these requests. The papers presented here are the work of their respective authors writing as scholarly commentary. They do not, therefore, necessarily represent the position of the Law Commission of Canada."--Foreword, p. 3 of 126.
