Evaluation of Industry Canada's grant to the Institute for Quantum Computing : final report.: Iu4-168/2013E-PDF
"This report presents the results of an evaluation of Industry Canada’s Grant to the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC). The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the relevance and performance of Industry Canada’s grant to IQC. IQC is a multidisciplinary research organization within the University of Waterloo and is supported by a partnership of the federal and provincial governments and the philanthropy of Mike and Ophelia Lazaridis. Building on the University of Waterloo’s internationally recognized strengths in mathematics and computer science, IQC was officially established as a research institute at the University of Waterloo in 2002. IQC was created to foster pioneering research in quantum information science, as part of a larger vision that “harnessing quantum mechanics will lead to transformational technologies that will benefit society and become a new engine of economic development in the 21st century”"--p. 1.
