In this paper, the database of returns and at-sea survivals from monitored rivers in eastern Canada is used to address the following questions: Were the returns and sea survivals in 1997 unusual? Are there spatial and or temporal correlations in the returns and sea survivals of Atlantic salmon to eastern Canada? Are there spatial patterns in the trends of returns to rivers in eastern Canada in the last decade?
