The objective is to present a “cod’s-eye-view” of the distribution and abundance of capelin off Newfoundland from acoustic surveys conducted during spring 1991-1994 and in 1998 and 1999. The results of inshore and offshore surveys are compared and the implications of the current distribution of capelin for cod stock recovery is discussed. |
