Year-class strength of northern cod (2J3KL) and southern Grand Banks cod (3NO) estimated from the pelagic juvenile fish survey in 1999 / Edgar L. Dalley, John T. Anderson and Denise J. Davis.: Fs70-1/2000-096E-PDF
This paper reports on the results of the 1999 survey for the northern (2J3KL) and southern Grand Banks cod stocks (3NO). Results of abundances, distributions, sizes (length, weight, condition), ages, growth rates and hatching dates of pelagic juvenile (0-group) Atlantic cod are examined and compared to the results of the 1994-1998 surveys. The results are discussed in terms of the production of cod from the existing populations and predictions of recruitment in these two stocks.
