Integration of case-based reasoning (CBR) in a sensemaking support system (S3) : knowledge representation (KR) artifacts and integration strategy / A. Bergeron Guyard, J. Roy.: D68-2/163-2014E-PDF
Intelligence analysts are faced with information and cognitive overload problems, i.e., they must take into account large amounts of information from various sources using complex cognitive processes. Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) has been shown to offer a way to address some of the issues relating to these overload problems. This report provides details on CBR and how it can be applied in support of intelligence analysis. CBR is presented; the knowledge representation artifacts required by a CBR system are detailed. A strategy to integrate CBR into a sensemaking support system is also explained.
