This report provides records of both the peer review meeting for assessing the status of the diadromous fish stocks in 1997 and the client consultation meetings held prior to the peer review meeting. The Peer Review took place March 9-13, 1998, at the Gulf Fisheries Centre, Moncton, New Brunswick. Participants numbered 46 and, in addition to Diadromous Fish Division members, were comprised of individuals or representatives from provincial agencies (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec), local universities (Moncton and University of New Brunswick), one other federal agency, DFO Science organizations (Ottawa and Newfoundland), other Divisions of DFO’s Regional Science Branch, and client interests (Aboriginal and recreational fishing).
