"Nuclear reactors of varying sizes and power outputs have been used for a variety of applications, such as research, materials testing, medical uses, and electrical power generation. The CNSC regulates activities associated with all of these applications. ... This discussion paper provides an overview of a number of the potential issues associated with SMRs that the CNSC has examined. These issues are described at a high level along with a short description of specific items to be addressed in future work.
