This preliminary report contains tabulations, definitions and other explanatory detail on hospital utilization and expenditure data. The objective of this report is to provide, in a timely manner, useful information on the Canadian hospital sector. Although the figures presented are preliminary they nevertheless provide a reasonably accurate portrayal of hospital costs and utilization.
