"The Snow Crab fishery in the Estuary and the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence began in the late 1960s. The DFO Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Branch, Quebec Region, requested a resource status assessment as well as a science advisory report, in order to set the 2016 quotas. A scientific peer review was conducted on February 16 and 17, 2016. Participants included representatives from DFO Science and Fisheries and Aquaculture Management, the fishing industry and First Nations"--Context, p. [1].
