520 |aThe survey was a continuation of multibeam mapping that commenced in 2004. The goal is to map Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, in support of the multi-agency Placentia Bay Information Seaway Project, and also in support of efforts to manage the marine resources of the bay. The scientific objective is to enhance our understanding of geological processes in the bay, including glacial history, sea-level history, modern processes, geological hazards including submarine landslides, and the presence of contaminants in marine sediments.
