"This all metric edition of Modest House Designs prepared by Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation, contains 25 designs for bungalows, bilevels and two-storey houses, and is divided into two parts. Part one contains 14 single-detached designs and Part two contains 11 semi-detached designs. All the designs are drawn to metric dimensions only and are intended to illustrate examples of modest family housing which comply with the Corporation's current design standards and guidelines. They have been developed primarily for siting on lots with narrow frontages which have specific conditions i.e. flat ground, ground sloping up from the street, ground sloping down from the street, and flat or gently sloping ground where subsoil conditions would not permit a basement."--Introduction.
