Gravity mass failures at the seabed in St. Ann's Basin, offshore eastern Cape Breton Island have been investigated with very high-resolution reflection seismic, sidescan and limited core and multibeam bathymetric coverage. Recent compilations of shelf-situated potential geohazard features on the Scotian Shelf and Grand Banks of Newfoundland suggests that this basin has a more concentrated occurrence of Quaternary mass failure erosion and deposition features than other surveyed areas. ...
