The Chemicals Management Plan (CMP) is a horizontal initiative of the federal government involving joint actions by Health Canada (HC) and Environment Canada (EC) with a goal of mitigating threats posed by existing chemical substances to human health and the environment. A particular focus of the CMP is the assessment of risks posed by existing high priority chemical substances in commercial use and implementation of appropriate risk management measures as determined to be necessary.
