Seedling blight and foot-rots of oats : caused by Fusarium Culmorum (W.G. Sm.) Sacc. /by P.M. Simmonds. : A12-2/105-1928E-PDF

"Grain crops in Western Canada are often afflicted with a disease commonly referred to as root-rot or foot-rot. Unlike the rusts and smuts which are usually conspicuous, root-rot diseases are very variable in their symptoms. Consequently their initial stages are often overlooked or the abnormal conditionis attributed to drought, wind, frost and so forth. ... It has been the intention to study this disease as carefully as possible in order to obtain some knowledge relative to its mode of development, the extent to which the crop may be damaged, and in regard to possible means of control"--p.
