"This document presents the provincial distribution of federal government expenditures on science and technology. The statistics presented in this report are supplements of data published in the Service bulletin "Science statistics" Vol. 20, No. 8, catalogue 88-001-XPB. S&T expenditure can be divided into R&D and RSA expenditure. In this document, there are two other divisions which can be applied to any expenditures. They are natural sciences and social sciences, and intramural and extramural. The terms "natural sciences" and "social sciences" are to be regarded as synonymous with "natural sciences and engineering" and "social sciences and humanities" respectively. Included in this report are tables presenting expenditures and staff of federal government scientific establishments for the fiscal year 1994-95." -- Intro., p. 7.
