This publication is designed to serve those concerned with regional development. Using a technique developed in the United States, employment data from the Annual Census of Manufactures are placed in a convenient framework for analysis, to facilitate comparisons among areas. The focus is on the change in manufacturing employment in the period 1961 to 1965 and, for comparison, the period 1949 to 1959.
