It is a scheduled disease under the Animal Contagious Diseases Act. This Act, and the regulations made thereunder, demand that every owner, breeder, dealer, and veterinary surgeon, suspecting the existence of this disease in horses, cattle, and sheep, shall immediately notify the nearest veterinary inspector.
