Frameworking may be accomplished either by grafting or budding, but the budding is slower to do and slower to replace the top, than grafting. Hence, framework-budding is not recommended for any but peach and apricot trees, which do not graft readily. A brief review of experimental results comparing topworking with frameworking will be found later in this bulletin."--p. 7. |
