Equipment for harvesting hay and silage / Wm. Kalbfleisch.A12-8/158-1949E-PDF

"Forage crops may be harvested as dry hay or as silage by many different methods and by means of various types of equipment. There is no single method or group of machines which is suitable for all farms and all conditions of operation. ... The calculated costs of harvesting operations and machine costs as presented in this bulletin, are based on machinery records of the Dominion Experimental Farms Service, and on other literature dealing with this topic. Practically every type of equipment mentioned in this publication has been used in agricultural engineering experiments"--Introd., p. 3.
