"Since 1973, the real output of the Canadian economy has grown at a slower average rate than it did during the 1960s and early 1970s. Although this experience reflects in part the effects of cyclical slowdown in Canada as well as in other industrialized countries, it is also attributable in part to a slowing of the long-term or trend rate of growth of the Canadian economy during the 1970s. ..."--Pref.
