"This bulletin contains the revised estimates for Canada and the provinces for the years 1952-1955. Bulletin No. 40 "Population Estimates (age and sex), 1921-1952" was published in 1953 and contains the revised figures for the years 1922-1950. The figures for 1952 in Bulletin 40 are now replaced by the revised 1952 figures in the present bulletin." -- p. 3.
