520 |a"At their meeting in February 2006, FPT Deputy Ministers Responsible for Justice endorsed the establishment of a working group of the Coordinating Committee of Senior Officials (CCSO) to review issues related to the high number of murdered and missing women in Canada. Alberta and British Columbia were asked to co-chair this working group. The CCSO Missing Women Working Group (MWWG) includes members from the justice and public safety departments of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Canada. The members of the MWWG include police and prosecutors who have had experience with cases involving predators, as well as members with expertise in criminal law policy analysis and social science research. In June 2006, FPT Deputy Ministers approved the mandate of the MWWG: to consider the effective identification, investigation, and prosecution of cases involving serial killers who target persons living a high risk lifestyle, including but not limited to the sex trade"--Introduction, p. 4.
