kaptitipis e-pimohteyahk : Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Montreal / Lauri Gilchrist with assistance from R. Anthony Winchester.: Z1-1991/1-41-107E-PDF
“kapitipis e-pimohteyahk: Vancouver, Winnipeg and Montreal, sponsored by The Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples 1993, is a study on Aboriginal street youth living on the streets of three major urban centres in Canada. In this research project we are seeking to gain insight into life on city streets for Aboriginal youth: why they go to the street, how they survive, what kinds of services they are more likely to use, and what changes they envision for services provided to them. More than the objective type of inquiry described above, we are interested in their perception of their experience on the street -- as an Aboriginal person. As much as possible we want to present this information in their own voice and in such a way as to contextualize the youth's life in Canadian history and in urban societal terms"--Executive summary, p. v.
