520 |aThis three generation life history project tells the stories of the Kawapit women of Whapmagoostui (Poste de la Baleine/Great Whale), Québec. The three life histories together describe the ways in which women have lived and continue to live on the northern boreal forest and taiga land. The Kawapit family was selected for this study because they are one of the Whapmagoostui Iyiyuu (Cree) families that, through the generations, has been shaped by this way of life. Through the testimonies of the three women this document will illustrate how their relationship to the land has progressed over the years.
