520 |a"This report summarizes activities in the project that support our efforts to confirm the viability of an alternative cross-bridging product for wood floor construction as in part 9 of the National Building Code of Canada. The findings of this project are included in the various appendixes at the back of our report. Computer analysis was first used to confirm that the original concept had merit. Testing of prototype pieces on a measuring test bed confirmed performance guidelines consistent with deflections as allowed in wood span tables. Various other issues as related to installation and use of "BRIG-EEZ" with subsequent services in a floor cavity were studied and confirmed to be very favourable. Conclusions have been drawn showing this design concept to be very positive to the integrity of residential floor systems"--Summary, p. 1.
