Moisture can be removed from a building assembly through drainage, by diffusion or venting (convective air change) to a drier indoor or outdoor environment. Most building assemblies and materials have some tolerance for infrequent and short duration wetting. Some infrequent passage of water to the inside is a minor inconvenience rather than a disaster.
