"Atlantic Canada is well-known around the world for its outstanding centres of excellence in Research and Development (R&D). The region has an extensive network of specialized centres and research facilities that concentrate on both traditional and advanced technology industries. Among those industries are ocean technology, e-commerce, forestry, aquaculture, offshore exploration, agri-food, biotechnology and advanced telecommunications.
