"In June 1951, the Dominion Bureau of Statistics carried out a special sample survey of heating facilities in private homes. The survey was made in conjunction with the quarterly labour force survey. Over 40, 000 households chosen by area sampling methods in about 110 areas were visited"--Introduction.
