Religious denominations by sex for Canada and provinces, 1931 .: CS98-1931B-14E-PDF

"A preliminary tabulation of religious denominations shows that out of a total population of 10,576,786 enumerated in the Seventh Census of Canada taken as of Jiine 1st, 1931 only 16,045 or less than one-seventh of one per cent failed to furnish a reply to the inquiry as to their religious affiliation. ... It is interesting to note that of the total number for whom a denomination was not entered 14,575 were males and only 1,668 females. This disparity is probably accounted for by the fact that in the case of many men the Census information was furnished by persons other than themselves"--p. [1].
