"This bulletin gives in a preliminary statement the school attendance of the population between the ages of 5 and 24 years, enumerated as of June 1st, 1931, and the ability to read and write of the total population 5 years of age and over by sex for Canada and provinces in 1931. The classification under both heads are compared with the figures given for the Census of 1921. These preliminary tables show the number of persons listed under each category by age groups, but not analysed in any way in relation to other facts recorded on the population schedules"--p. [1].
