"In this bulletin, the population of Canada as shown by the Census of 1931, (the results of which have been previously issued in separate bulletins for each province), is presented for the Dominion as a whole, by districts and sub-districts, with comparative figures for the preceding Census. The Bulletin is issued for the primary purpose of facilitating consideration of the redistribution of representation in the House of Commons, which constitutes the legal raison d'être for the taking of the Census in Canada. ... Tables I-VI herewith present a summary review of the growth of the population by Provinces during the decade 1921-31."--p. [1].
