"On 20 June 2016, the Minister of Transport, in concert with the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard announced the review of the Navigation Protection Act and the Fisheries Act. In addition to consultations undertaken by Transport Canada, the Minister of Transport asked the House of Commons Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities (TRAN or the Committee) to undertake a study of the changes made in 2009 and 2012 to the Navigation Protection Act (NPA)”--Intro., p. 1.
