"In 2006, the River Redhorse was designated as Special Concern in Canada by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). This species has a disjunct distribution throughout most of its range in Canada. The long-term goal of this management plan is to maintain self-sustaining River Redhorse populations at current locations and restore self-sustaining populations at historical locations where feasible"--Executive summary, p. iii.
