A medium-density housing study = Étude sur les ensembles d'habitations à densité moyenne.: NH17-117/1977-PDF
“The purpose of this Information Paper is to explain the basic principles of the various housing forms that are commonly used to achieve medium densities. By showing the differences, it is hoped that a range of other solutions for the different forms will be stimulated, particularly those with innovative characteristics. The designs illustrated are not intended to meet only the needs of housing that is assisted by federal funds, however, most of them do in fact conform to the minimum floor areas required for some of the Corporation programs that provide assistance to housing. Although densities have tended to increase rapidly in recent years in larger metropolitan areas, this has not been the situation in smaller centres. Since not all medium-density housing in urban centres has been ideal, the material in this information paper is expected to benefit most areas of the country"--Introd., p. 4.
