Geology and shaded seafloor relief, Lunenburg Bay, Scotian Shelf, offshore Nova Scotia / authors, E.L. King, S. Hynes, and G.D.M. Cameron.: M183-2/8138E-PDF
"An illustrated map depicting both bedrock and overlying sediment types is presented. It was derived mainly from sonar surveys. This location adjoins the UNESCO town by the same name and is the site of a marine park. It was also the site of past gold mining. The sonar surveys were exceptional quality and enable recognition of bedrock features such as faults, folds, joints and enigmatic pits better than on the land. Prime examples of several glacial and past coastal features are also presented, together with the 3-D distribution of seabed and shallow sub-seabed sediment types. A history of the evolution of processes was deduced spanning from the time of glacial ice sheet cover, exposure as dry land and subsequent and continued flooding by the sea"--Summary provided by publisher.
