Geological characteristics and petroleum resource assessment of the Macasty Formation, Anticosti Island, Quebec, Canada / Z. Chen ... [et al.].: M183-2/8018E-PDF
"The GSC evaluates the in place oil and gas resource for the Macasty Formation on Anticosti Island. The data consists of all public domain information (GSC and MRNQ) as well as confidential data provided by the operators on the island (Hydrocarbons Anticosti L.P. and Junex Exploration). Our evaluation indicates significant volume of resources for both oil (average of 28.9 billion barrels of oil) and gas (average of 46.6 trillion cubic feet) although given the relative low density and quality of the data (spatial coverage, methodology of acquisition), a wide uncertainty is present as expressed by high and low estimates. Previous industry estimates suggest an in-place mean resource of 43 billion barrels of oil equivalent, a value that lump together oil and gas based on a thermal equivalence of 1 barrel of oil equivalent for 6000 cubic feet of gas. Because of the lack of production data, no attempt was made to evaluate the recovery of the in-place resources"--Summary provided by publisher.
