5203 |a"As part of the research program for the 1991 Census of Population, a study of the feasibility of constructing a dwelling address register for Canadian urban areas is underway at Statistics Canada. The initial pilot test indicated that use of an address register constructed using data from several administrative records systems could improve census coverage. In this paper the methodology used to construct address registers for additional pilot tests scheduled for the fall of 1987 is described. Topics examined include the quality of information available on the various administrative files, procedures used to parse free format address information and record linkage techniques used to unduplicate address lists. The benefits of using information not directly related to address in the linkage process are also considered"--Abstract.
