520 | |a"Statistics Canada maintains an address register (AR) of all residential dwelling addresses for urban centres with population 50,000 and over. The test was conducted to evaluate two methods of creating an up-to-date list of all residential dwelling addresses in the urban areas for the mail-out of census questionnaires. The two methods are: (i) updating the AR in the field, and (ii) listing all residential dwelling addresses in a Visitation Record (VR) booklet in the field. The methods have been evaluated by comparing the costs, and the undercoverage and overcoverage rates of the two methods. The AR updating method is recommended on the basis of cost consideration and due to better coverage. The impact on the cost and coverage due to making contact with the householder has also been evaluated"--Summary. |
