"The snow crab fishery in the Estuary and the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence began in the late 1960s.The DFO Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Branch, Quebec Region, requested a stock status assessment and a science advisory report to set the 2017 quotas. A scientific peer review was conducted on February 14 and 15, 2017.
