520 | |a"From the 1981 Census data base, two smaller micro-data files, known as Public Use Sample Tapes (PUST), have been created. One file contains individual records and the other covers households and families. The various methodological, technical and content aspects of these tapes are documented elsewhere and will be available to users. This paper describes the special treatment of one variable - income. In planning these tapes, it was deemed essential to devise procedures to guard against the possibility of associating a particular income record with an identifiable individual. These procedures and their impact on income data are described below. Also included is an overall evaluation of the income data from the two tapes."--Intro. |
