"The purpose of the evaluation was to examine the relevance and performance of AgriStability, AgriInvest, AgriInsurance and the Wildlife Compensation Program. These programs are offered under the Business Risk Management (BRM) suite of programs as part of Growing Forward 2 (GF2), AAFC’s five-year (2013/14-2017/18) Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Multilateral Framework Agreement for Canada's agricultural and agri-food sector. The evaluation was conducted by the Office of Audit and Evaluation (OAE) in accordance with the Treasury Board Policy on Results (2016). The results are intended to inform planning for the next phase of policy and program development under Next Policy Framework (NPF) beginning 2018/19, the next multilateral framework agreement for agriculture. The BRM suite of programs is designed to support GF2 objectives by helping farmers manage risk due to severe market volatility and disaster situations"--Executive summary, p. 7.
