"The 1981 Post Censal Redesign of the LFS lead to a complete re-specification of the sample (Singh, Drew, Choudhry, 1985). The new sample was introduced between the months of October 1984 and March 1985, (Mayda, Drew, Lindeyer, 1985) during which period lists of dwellings had to be created in the field and data captured for over 11,000 new clusters. The conditions under which the various operations involved took place (training new staff, familiarization with new types of clusters, etc.) gave rise to a program whose purpose was to check the quality of work done"--Introduction.
