"An attempt to define solvent extraction terms. The purpose is to avoid jargon which normally creeps into the terminology of any new field - some of which may be fine, but some of which is not always sufficiently descriptive. This article follows one by Ritcey on the use of solvent extraction for base metals published in the June 1969 issue of CMJ which prompted many enquiries from various parts of the world"--p. 70.
