“Pursuant to section 74 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA) (Canada 1999), the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Health conduct screening assessments of substances to determine whether these substances present or may present a risk to the environment or to human health. This screening assessment includes consideration of information on chemical properties, environmental fate, hazards, uses, and exposure, including additional information submitted by stakeholders. Relevant data were identified up to June 2015. Empirical data from key studies, as well as some results from models, were used to reach conclusions. When available and relevant, information presented in assessments from other jurisdictions was considered”--Introd., p. 1, 2.
