An overview of registered Indian conditions in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island / by Hugh Lautard under the direction of N.H. Lithwick, Lithwick Rothman Schiff Associates Ltd.R5-393/5-1987E-PDF

"This report examines the demographic characteristics and socio-economic conditions of registered Indians in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island using data from the 1981 Census, the Indian Register and from other relevant sources in the Government of Canada. Unless otherwise indicated, the information presented in this report refers to both provinces combined. This document considers the situation of on- and off-reserve registered Indians and compares this with the situation of a "reference population". This generally consists of the total populations of both provinces less registered Indians, although in certain cases the total provincial populations are used."--Highlights Introduction, p. ix.
